Alex Gerrard sports strange leather creation as she flaunts her post-baby figure

As anyone who's seen the already-infamous new reality show Desperate Scousewives will know, there's never an excuse to step out looking shabby in Liverpool.

But new mother Alex Gerrard appears to have taken things rather too far, wearing a bizarre black fur leather and lace creation to hit the town for some post-baby celebrations.

The strange ensemble appeared to be a confusion of at least three outfits, including odd long leather cuffs on her arms.

Rather messy: Alex Gerrard donned an odd combination of leather, fur and lace for a night out in Liverpool yesterday

She appeared to be showing off her stomach with a sheer lace top, keeping her shoulders warm in fur.

Alex bravely bared her tanned legs despite the December chill, wearing a pleather skirt with fabric panels at the hip.

Her sparkly clutch, though also black, only added to the general messy effect.

Mixed impression: Alex looked in amazing shape considering she only gave birth a month ago, but her outfit was a sad misfire

Alex got tipsy with a few friends at Gaucho bar before moving onto San Carlo.

The 29-year-old must have been doing some serious yoga training during her pregnancy, as she looked in incredible shape considering how recently she gave birth.

It has barely been a month since she gave birth to her baby girl Lourdes, her third daughter with Liverpool captain and England midfielder Steven.

Steven and Alex already have two other daughters, Lilly-Ella, seven, and five-year-old Lexie.

Lourdes is the name of the French town to which millions of Catholic pilgrims travel every year.

It is also where the Virgin Mary is said to have appeared to a poor 14-year-old girl called Bernadette Soubiroux in 1858.

Both Steven and Alex are practicing Catholics so that might have swayed their decision to call their third daughter Lourdes.

Then again, the reason might have been far simpler, if Alex's interview with OK magazine shortly after the birth is anything to go by.

Alex explained: 'To be honest, I've always loved that name'

'We wanted to pick something that began with L because of Lilly and Lexie and both Steven and I agreed on Lourdes. It suits her perfectly.'

She gushed that she and husband Steven couldn't have been more thrilled when their new addition arrived perfectly healthy, weighing 7lb 15 oz.

Alex divulged: 'The first thing I said to Steven when I saw Lourdes was that I couldn't believe how much she looks like him.'

'She's the spitting image of him!'

EXCLUSIVE VIDEO: Pregnant Beyonc gets into the festive spirit in lace and red leather on ITV special

Now it's December, most of us have started to think about what to wear over the Christmas period, and have begun stocking up on sparkly new outfits for the festive parties.

And who better to use as fashion inspiration than the beautiful Beyonc?, who dons a sexy sparkly lace and red leather outfit to perform on an ITV special this weekend.

The 30-year-old singer, who is expecting her first child, looked stunning in the corseted gown, which featured a long leather train, as she belted out her hit track Best Thing I Never Had to a crowd of delighted fans.

Giving her audience the chance to sing the lyrics back to her, former Destiny's Child singer Beyonc? looked delighted as they gave as good as they got with the opportunity.

And it's not only Beyonc?'s outfit that has a festive feel about it, as the set of the ITV show A Night With Beyonc? also embraces the Christmas spirit - with candles and Christmas trees galore.

Later in the show, Beyonc? tries out a somewhat different look as she ditches her killer heels and goes for the barefoot approach while performing another ballad.

Belting it out: Beyonc? looked delighted as the crowds of fans in the audience sang back Best Thing I Never Had to her

Teaming her sheer blue trousers and blouse with bare feet, Beyonc? looked confident while perching on a stool performing hit after hit.

She later sits down on the floor after belting out the track's biggest top notes.

Beyonc?'s relaxed appearance is in sharp contrast to her usual immaculately groomed look, but suited the mother-to-be.

The exclusive performance, recorded in front of an audience of Beyonc?'s biggest fans shortly before the superstar announced her pregnancy in August, also sees the singer treat fans to a question and answer session in between songs.

Hosted by X Factor USA presenter Steve Jones, the hour and a quarter long special airs on Sunday night, and Acting Controller of Entertainment, ITV, Daniela Neumann, who commissioned the special, said it will be an unmissable show.

She said: 'Beyonc? is one of the biggest selling artists of today. She is a world-class performer who dazzles her audience with her energy and talent.

Excited: Beyonc? filmed the special back in July, shortly before announcing her pregnancy in August

'We are thrilled to have this very special and exclusive entertainment event on ITV.'
